Pinterest Picks: Christmas Edition

Alright, you guys... I'm going to be REAL honest with you... I'm NOT DIYing Christmas gifts this year!

*Gasp* *Faints* *Gasps*

Yeah, I know I have already documented my attempts at baking Christmas this year, but alas... I just decided it was too much stress.

My only tips for DIYing Christmas gifts is to:

1. START EARLY!!! I really can't stress that one enough, and I am the QUEEN of procrastination. The last thing you want to be doing is stitching, gluing, and glittering until the wee hours of the morning on Christmas.

2. Only make something that you have made before so you don't have to work out a bunch of kinks.  It was the kinks that ultimately killed it for me this Christmas. I was trying to do too many new things.

3. (This is probably the most important) Do NOT beat yourself up if you end up having to just pick up a little something from the store.  I promise it isn't going to kill your "Crafting Cred." Remember, Martha Stewart doesn't come up with all of those ideas! She has a team of highly talented Oompa Loompas illegally camped out in her basement. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Martha Stewart Crafts, I just like to think of her as a mythical creature.

I can say that for the first time in my life I am completely done Christmas shopping before December 23rd. I would also like to happily add that everything is wrapped and under the tree (minus two gifts that will be here via UPS tomorrow.)

Now I can relax with my hot cup of chamomile tea and surf Pinterest until my little heart is content!

Let me share with you some of my Christmas favorites:

Can of Snow!

This one caught my eye. I don't know if it's the eye catching pictures or what but this looks like so much fun! I don't even have children, and as a 25 year old (8 year old at heart) I would play with that for much longer than I care to admit to.  My hat is off to the wonderful blog HowDoesShe for this awesome little Christmas nugget!

Caramel Marshmallow Popcorn

  - I have not had a chance to try this one yet, but the image above makes my mouth water and my stomach growl. Seriously, just look at all those ooey gooey strings of marsmallowy, caramely, salty, crunchy goodness! LOOK AT IT!!!  This awesome recipe can be found over at Chef in Training.

Glitter Trees

  -  This tutorial is absolutely PERFECT for me. Not only is it super simple it involves glitter as a major component, it's like it was made for me! Go check it out over at eighteen25!

How is your holiday shopping going? What are you DIYing for the holidays this year?
